Key Takeaways

  • When a man's life or results start slipping, the underlying issue is typically not a lack of tactics, but a misalignment in identity tied directly to his proximity to God.
  • Jake Giffin developed the D6 coaching model to bridge modern psychological principles like transactional analysis and neurolinguistic programming with biblical psychology.
  • Many Christian men feel passive, numb, or stuck due to unaddressed shame and the subtle lie that they are basically fine because they compare themselves to others.
  • Using Galatians 5 as a diagnostic tool allows men to reverse engineer their current outcomes to see whether they are walking in the spirit or the flesh.
  • True identity and self-worth come from understanding who God says you are rather than relying on performance-based validation or self-sculpted identities.

When your results start slipping, do you hustle harder or question who you are? Jake Giffin joins us to discuss that the real issue usually isn’t tactics, it’s identity, and identity is tied to proximity. Jake is the founder and CEO of Halo Home Services, a leadership and sales coach, and the creator of the D6 coaching model, a framework designed to help men reverse engineer their outcomes and get back into alignment with God. If you’ve ever felt confident when you’re winning and crushed when you’re not, this conversation puts language on why.

We dig into what it means to “rewire” or “reprogram” the mind as a Christian without turning faith into a self-help project. Jake connects modern psychology with biblical psychology, measuring tools like transactional analysis and NLP against Scripture, then grounding the process in Romans 12:2, taking thoughts captive, and the put off and put on pattern. We also use Galatians 5 as a practical diagnostic: if the fruit of the Spirit isn’t showing up, what are you actually walking in, and what belief system is feeding it?

We go straight at the common reasons Christian men feel passive, numb, or stuck even when they believe in God: shame, distance, and the subtle lie of “I’m basically fine.” Jake explains how a man’s identity drives beliefs, beliefs drive conduct, and conduct creates the conditions he lives in, for better or worse. He also shares his upcoming book, Made Man, plus a free assessment at mademan.net/assessment for anyone who wants to get honest about their current results.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the D6 coaching model created by Jake Giffin?

The D6 coaching model is a framework that marries modern psychological principles with biblical psychology to help men reverse engineer their outcomes and align their identity with God.

Why do Christian men often feel stuck or passive?

Many Christian men struggle with numbness, passivity, or apathetic behavior because of hidden shame, distance in their proximity to God, and the false belief that they are fine just because they attend church.

How can a Christian biblically reprogram their mind?

Reprogramming the mind biblically involves applying Romans 12:2 to be transformed by the renewing of your mind, taking thoughts captive to Christ, and practicing the pattern of putting off the old self and putting on the new self.

Welcome And Guest Setup

SPEAKER_00

Hello everyone, thank you again for joining me in another episode of the Dorsey Rush show. On today's episode, our guest today is Jake Geffen, founder and CEO of Halo Home Services, personal coach to leaders and operators, and host of the great the Jake Giffen podcast. With nearly two decades of experience in sales training, team leadership, and business building, Jake helped high capacity men rewire their thinking, strengthen their disciples, their discipline, and align their lives with operational excellence and faith-driven purpose.

SPEAKER_01

Jake, welcome to the show. Thank you, Dorsey. Appreciate the I appreciate the invite, man. I'm glad to be here.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely. When did you first realize that your life was truly off track?

SPEAKER_01

Oh well, like at what point, right? Like things always get off track at some point. But probably the last, the last time I realized my life was off track, I'll give you, I'll give you a super recent example. This is maybe just a few weeks ago, because off track, what what we've done at D6 and in our coaching thing is to align people's identity with who God is. And that's in direct relationship to their proximity to God. And then it aligns

When Life Feels Off Track

SPEAKER_01

down to the conditions they create or the environment they create. So from a from a coaching model, from the bottom up of the coaching model, it's a diagnostic tool. From the top down, it's a coaching model. So we're always kind of adjusting the spine to make sure that we're in alignment with God. So I'll give you that's just a brief thing of what the coaching thing does. But just recently, I was, you know, you know, businesses struggle. They go through these peaks and valleys, highs and lows. And I was feeling particularly down a few weeks ago. Like I've helped several companies now make it to wherever the CEO wanted to take their business from a coaching standpoint, from a coaching development, development and coaching standpoint, we've helped, I've helped, you know, several companies. And then now I'm sitting a few weeks ago talking to the Lord because that's the root. You get your identity, everything you get is from God. If you get anything from yourself, it you're gonna fall apart. So I'm sitting around, I'm talking to God, and I'm going, you know, Lord, this seems like it's really hard. Like I have my own home services business that I've had for 10 years. Marketing obviously has changed a lot in the last 20 years, but I feel as though, and this is what I'm telling God, this is the last time I was kind of like out of whack. And that is, I'm telling God, I feel as though I don't know what I'm doing, right? Like I'm thinking back to these companies that I helped, these salespeople I've recruited and coached, and they've gone on to do great things for the companies that have taken now to the top 100 in the nation, right? These things are everything. I'm I'm telling God this. Like everything I did seemed to have turned to gold. And now I'm sitting here going, like, I don't feel like I know what I'm doing. And God told me, and I have to qualify this because everybody has to qualify this. I didn't hear him audibly, but God, but I felt like God was telling me, Jake, you've never known what you were doing. The only reason you had any success in anything that you were doing was because I gave it to you. And I was like, that is what an arrogant jerk I've been, thinking that all that success was was by my own hand. And when your own success is by your own hand, then your lack of success is also by your own hand. And you have to figure out why you're such an idiot and you can't make it work. Well, now if you sit around and you ask yourself, why am I an idiot? How come I can't make it work? Subconsciously you're gonna you're gonna answer that question. Well, you're an idiot because, right? And that is what gets most, that's what gets me out of alignment because I have to constantly be taking my relationship back to who God is, who he made me to be. And if I'm worshiping him in the work that I'm currently doing to the to the best of my ability right now. And if I am, then the success, this then the success and or failure is a result of him. And that's not to say that that's not to say, Dorsey, that if I fail, that that's a bad thing. Failure is a lesson sometimes God uses to teach you stuff. So anyway, but I won't go off on that rabbit trail. Bore your audience to death. If I start rambling, kill it, right? Like just interrupt me. You know, interrupt me. It's uh I'm overflowing with nonsense. I could just throw it all. I mean, it just I talk all day.

SPEAKER_00

How did encountering Christ begin to reshape your sense of identity?

SPEAKER_01

Well, you know, everybody right now in society is trying to be the best version of themselves, right? We're all sculpting, everybody's sculpting their own quote unquote identity. And when you sculpt your own identity, then you it is your responsibility to defend that identity. And sometimes we defend our own identities like, you know, tooth and nail. We don't because we don't want to suffer loss, right? It's like if you challenge

Letting Christ Define Identity

SPEAKER_01

my identity, then I have to challenge you back because I'm trying to protect something that I've built. But when Christ intersected my life and when he rescued me from that old man, from the animal, from the identity that I was building, when he rescued me, I didn't I don't have an identity that isn't that isn't supplied by him. Like he, you know, he became my identity. So he's my target. He's who I look at as my my goal, and I'm trying to align myself with who he is. So I don't really I'm trying not to have my own identity. I'm trying to just I'm trying Sure.

SPEAKER_00

You said you mentioned earlier that you work with businesses and you know, with the CEOs on leadership teams and whatnot. Do you help individuals as well? And what does that look like?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I hope right now I'm focusing purely on on men, coaching men, on various levels. You know, some you know, some guys might come to me and they need, you know, help with they want better sales skills or developmental, you know, leadership skills or things like that. And other guys come and they, you know, they want, they're angry all the time. They're impatient or they're just not showing the kindness or or love that they feel like they should, and they're creating conditions in their life that that are less than optimal. So I help a wide array of men, predominantly men right now. I I have a real heart for making sure men are dialed in and they know who they are. And so whether they come to me for sales training or or sales coaching or business development, or they come to me because they're pissed off all the time, um, we help a wide array of guys overcome a litany of obstacles.

SPEAKER_00

Do you see both do you see both people of faith and non-Christians as well? And when you if you do see, you know, a non-Christian, do you minister to them or you know, speak Christ to them?

SPEAKER_01

I don't, well, yes, I coach non-believers. I've had had a c couple clients over the last year that were non-believers. I coaching isn't about coaching's interesting. Coaching isn't about me and about what I want, right? It's about what they want. What they and part of being able to be, part of being a good coach is help is identifying their values, their beliefs, what they're working with, and using that to help them get what they want. And so if I work with a non-believer, that

Coaching Believers And Non-Believers

SPEAKER_01

worldview is that worldview is different. And so it's not my goal to evangelize clients. If the subject, if the subject comes up and they ask, you know, if they ask me where do I get my identity from, where do I, why do I feel so calm and whatever with with my life, then I'll tell them. These things may come up, but the coaching client relationship is like 2% me and 98% them. So yeah, we're we're we're coaching according to values. And so, well, I'll give you a good example. Somebody who is in the animal, and in and it in in the D6 coaching model, we have what is the animal, that is the natural man, that is somebody who is spiritually dead. Now, to coach somebody like that, you coach them as though they're an animal. And those animals have different rules. The rule is survival of the fittest, pleasure at all costs, uh, defend their own personal identity that they grew up with, right? So now, to the extent that they would discover that those things don't align or make sense and they need clarity or they want some spiritual coaching on that, then that opens up some options. But if they're just looking at conquering the world from an animal standpoint, well, I mean, I can help them do that too. But that's why I like working with Christian men. Because yeah, can I help you climb the corporate ladder and step on people and get your way and be uber successful using your own worldview? Yeah, of course. That's what a coach, that's ultimately what a coach does. But but that's why I like work working with Christian men, because they have uh like in the you know, a center, which is Christ, and we all want to we all want to make him happy.

SPEAKER_00

What made you decide to find, you know, to um to do this coking and to f uh find or the you know, to create this, you know, coking that you have?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so for a long time, back in like 2005, I got really interested in transactional analysis. This is Eric Burns' work in the 70s. He did work like, you know, I'm okay, you're okay. He did he wrote a book called Games People Play. Transactional analysis was a was a fundamental therapeutic or uh psychiatric kind of model in the 60s and 70s. And so I got really into transactional analysis and integrating that into a consultative sales process. That was a that was a lot

How The D6 Model Was Built

SPEAKER_01

of fun. And then so learning transactional analysis, parent, adult, child ego states, those kind of things, and figuring out how they interact, that was a lot of fun. Then I got into somebody introduced me to neurolinguistic programming. Then I went like I went real kind of deep for a little bit in neurolinguistic programming, I kind of faded out. A few years ago, I want to say six or seven years ago, I went super deep and immersed myself in it to the point where I understood it. Then something occurred to me that whether you're talking about transactional analysis, cognitive behavioral therapy, neurolinguistic programming, whatever psychological process you're you're thinking about in regards to coaching or therapy, what's true, right? Because it like in performance, I can use techniques with you, Dorsey, that don't have to be clinically true. They just have to work, right? So coaching's different. Like I'm not, it's right, but I want to know what's true. And so what I decided to do then was compare what the Bible said. I go, you know, who who knows more about psychology than the inventor of psychology, right? Like God, God created the hard drive. He invented how this all works, he's the chemist that decided how these hormones and chemicals and different things interact to create the emotions and motivations that we have. He's the one that designed it all. Who better to ask what's true psychologically than God Himself? And so then I went to the Bible and I started looking up all the places where it talked about mind and considering and um motivations and emotions and all these things, and you go, oh, you start seeing where true psychology and and biblical psychology kind of overlap, right? So you're trying to figure out what's true. And so the D6 coaching model is basically that it's a marriage of what is true in the modern psychological terms compared to like married to biblical, I call it biblical psychology because it's all truth is God's truth. So I take the Bible and I take psychology and I put them together and I go, whatever isn't, whatever the Bible, whatever contradicts the Bible goes out. It's not part of the model. It's not to say that it's not helpful, it's not to say that it's not useful, it's just not part of the model that I use. And so that's that's what D that's what the D6 model is, is is to is a marriage of modern psychological principles with what the Bible says about psychology to incorporate what is true about the human mind and about what we're aiming towards. And you would be surprised, Dorsey, if you went deep right now into a Bible study about the mind, about desires, about emotions, you would see that God talks an awful lot about these concepts in the Bible if you're if you're really looking for them.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. What does it actually mean to reprogram your mind as a Christian? And is that even biblical?

SPEAKER_01

What's it mean to refocus your mind? We reprogram. Reprogram your mind. Oh well, you learn things as you grow up, right? Some things are true, some things are not true, right? Um maybe a a big example of that might be if you grew up in a household that was a r, you know, racially fiery household. Let's see, let's use a I don't know how do you say this diplomatically. I don't know what your your

Renewing The Mind Biblically

SPEAKER_01

your audience is like, but let's say uh you got some Nazis in your house, right? Some white supremacists in your house, and uh they got the shaved heads and the and the Doc Martins and the Red Suspenders, and they're walking around stomping about how the white Aryan race is the is the supreme is the supreme race, right? And then they go and they have kids. Now, if you're part of this group out there, now you know I'm talking to you, right? And then you have kids, and you're going to teach those kids, right? And in teaching those kids, what are you doing? You're programming their mind, you're programming their emotions, you're programming them to associate certain things with certain people based on color, based on culture, based on whatever. The result of that programming, that stimulus response programming, is to suggest that when I see a black person, I'm gonna hate them. So that happens, right? That happens on every level. Conditioning happens. Programming is just a weird word of saying conditioning. Conditioning happens on a lot of levels, from the time you're little to the time you're older. And a lot of that conditioning is just not true. So somebody's gonna come and say, well, look, I don't believe, I don't believe that black people are evil anymore. Right? I don't believe that this is a thing. I believe that we're all one race, right? I believe that we're all human race, whatever. But when I see certain people or I go into certain neighborhoods, I feel a certain way. How do I change that? And that's what I and that's the kind of things that I focus on getting rid of the old stuff, putting on the new stuff.

SPEAKER_00

And you and you say that the reprogramming of the mind for a Christian is biblical.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, well, I mean, that's biblical as Romans 12 says that you're gonna be transformed by renewing your mind. Paul talks about taking all thoughts captive to Christ, right? It talks about how we are to aim ourselves, put off the old man, put on the new man. All these things are terms by which saying you're gonna stop doing this and you're gonna start doing that. And in order to stop doing that, sometimes you have to address what is causing this to happen, what's causing the anger, what's causing the lust, what's causing the dissatisfaction, the coveting, the idolatry, what's causing it? And if you figure out what's causing it, the underlying program, right, that belongs to either to the flesh or to the spirit, we could, right? If it belongs to the flesh and you want to conform that to the spirit. Galatians chapter five, people sleep on Galatians chapter five. Galatians chapter five is an absolute masterclass in reverse engineering the results you're getting to figure out where they're coming from. So if I walk, if I walk according to the spirit, right? Galatians chapter five, if I walk according to the spirit, then the results that I will get will be love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, and self-control. That is what I will get if I walk according to the spirit. Now, if I walk according, so then what do I get if I walk according to the flesh? If I do the deeds of the flesh, if I do the deeds of the old man, if I do the deeds of the animal, then what kind of results can I expect? I can't expect love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, and self-control. If I walk, if I do the deeds of the flesh, I have to expect that the conditions I'm going to build are going to be impatience, anger, frustration, hatred, and compulsion. So in that sense, you're looking at biblically what the by what the Bible says about changing or reprogramming your mind. It doesn't use the terms, obviously reprogramming, but being transformed by the renewal of your mind and using Galatians as a as a reverse engineering tool to figure out where these patterns are coming from and how to crucify them? That's goal to me.

SPEAKER_00

Why are so many Christian men confused, passive, or even stuck though they believe in God?

SPEAKER_01

Why are mo why are most Christian men being stuck in their belief of God?

SPEAKER_00

No, confused, passive, or stuck, even though they believe in God.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it depends on the guy. But if we're just talking about a general guy, maybe he's just feeling numb or apathetic, that's gonna that's associated somewhat with shame. His identity isn't matching up with who God is. This is a

Why Christian Men Stay Stuck

SPEAKER_01

proximity issue. If you get a guarantee you, a man who is numb, apathetic, uh struggling, you know, confused or whatever, I guarantee you his relationship with God is not very close. If you were to ask him, how often are you reading, how often are you praying, how often are you fasting, how often are you worshiping God in just by yourself. I'm not talking about going to church. I'm talking about how what is what is your relationship with God when you're all by yourself? Most of those guys would say, Well, you know, I, you know, I go to church on Sunday. And so they're being told for an hour a week who they should be, and then their reality isn't matching that, and the conflict is causing a lot of other cascading issues. So you mentioned Does that answer the question?

SPEAKER_00

It it does. You mentioned the D the D6 framework earlier in the episode. How does it help a man gain that control of his life?

SPEAKER_01

Once a when a guy you when we use D6 to help reverse engineer somebody's results to figure out where in that, where in that alignment from proximity to conditions, somebody is out of whack. By reverse engineering it, we're going to figure out that it's something he's either doing, it's something he's believing, it's an identity issue, or it's something that's associated with his proximity, his closeness, or his distance from God. As soon as we can identify where the problem is revealing itself, then we can fix that thing. So, you know, I'll give you an example. A man who sits around another group of men, and I've seen this happen a hundred times, where we're all talking about being holy, we're all talking about being righteous, we're all talking about living like Christ and embodying, like, you know, there's something that comes with that when you when you understand who you are. And there's inevitably a guy in that room that's gonna sit there and say, Yes, but we're all just sinners, right? And no, we're not gonna be perfect until we get to heaven. And that's the guy I aim my my attention at. Because what he essentially just said was all that he is is a sinner. And now, if your identity is rooted in just being a sinner, then what do just sinners do? They sin. So their identity is in sin. The beliefs that are associated with that identity are that I'll never be holy, I'll never be righteous, I'll never be without sin. So then their conduct, they don't even work on their capabilities or their ability to avoid sin because they can't. Their beliefs won't let them. So then their conduct is sinful, and their conditions they're getting in their life are that of sinful people walking as animals and not walking as the spirit. Subsequently, you'll get this in churches too. Every Sunday, in many churches across the United States, maybe around the world, there's a preacher that is always just yelling at guys about you're nothing but a worthless sinner. You're nothing, you're never going to add up to anything. You're this or that, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And then when the guy goes and cheats on his wife, everybody is shocked. Oh my gosh, I can't believe Jim cheated on his wife. Like, I can't believe he didn't do it sooner. You mean he's been sitting under this teaching where his whole identity has been wrapped up in this concept of he's just a sinner. That's all he is. And he didn't do it sooner? Like, so when we so a long way of answering your question, I get fired up about this stuff. It's irritating, right? It's like one of those things. When you take a guy and you say you're not Joe, who does the Bible say you are? Right? That's the truth. The truth is who the Bible is. Says you are. In the Bible, once you've made the transition from the flesh into the spirit, Paul talks this about this in Romans 6 and 7, where you're you're no longer in the flesh. You're no longer a slave to sin. You no longer owe it anything as a debt. You are free. You're free from all of that. You don't have to do it anymore. You're not just a sinner. You're a spiritually reborn slave of Christ, right? You don't owe anything to the right. So once you re-establish a new identity, then the beliefs will follow. If I am a saint, then how do saint, what do saints believe? Saints believe that I'm no longer a slave to sin, that I don't have to obey it anymore. Saints believe that I can be holy and righteous in the spirit. I can walk in the spirit. What comes from those beliefs? Well, somewhere along the line, you have to get the capabilities to retrain yourself to adjust to those temptations or desires or whatever the stimulus response that comes. And then the conduct that emerges is that which is associated with the belief that I can be holy. I can be righteous. So now my conduct is holy and righteous, and my and my results are different. My results are going to be that of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and self-control, not that of, oh, I'm out of control. So everything flows from a proximity and identity downward as as the as the coaching. Again, long answer, Dorsey. This is a long, freaking answer. I get it. But it's important, I think, for guys to understand that if your proximity to God is trash and you still are living as though you believe you're just an animal, then you're getting the results that you deserve.

SPEAKER_00

How do you cook men to break free from performance-based worth?

SPEAKER_01

I don't. Same, same answer. It's proximity to God. Who does God say you are? Right? What is your identity in God? If you un if you can understand your identity in God, what He's done for you, the grace, the love, everything. Life, it's like God is life itself. Jesus is the way, the truth, and life. He is life. He had never, he's always been life. He's the definition of life. And yet he experienced death for us. He's always been in relationship with the Father. He's always had that love relationship. He's never been separated for all eternity past. They, Father, Son, Spirit are God. They've always been in unity. They've always been in deep, deep relationship. And that relationship was severed on the cross. This is a, this is a profound concept of what Jesus has done for us so that we can be free from sin and live the way that He designed us to live. And so when you really understand that, all bets are off, man. If you still, if you, if you get those, if you get the gospel all and all that grace holds, and you still are comfortable in your sin, you have problems, man, that go real deep.

SPEAKER_00

Now, would you say that what what would you say the biggest lie that most men believe is, and and is that what is that what keeps them stuck?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I would think one of the biggest lies people one of the biggest lies men believe is that they're they're they're almost fine, that they're just fine. I wrote that in a book called Made Man, which is, you know, it's at the very beginning. It's like it's they believe that I'm okay. I'm fine the way I am. And look, and you might be. I mean, but that's the problem. I think that's the biggest thing

The “I’m Fine” Lie Men Believe

SPEAKER_01

is they go, I go to church once or twice a week. I take care of my family, I do this, I do that. That's mostly works-based, like what you talked about before, but they don't really have a real relationship with God. Their proximity is broken. And that's predominantly because they believe I'm I'm basically fine. And uh, you know, it's like on the weekends they drink themselves into a stupor and they go, Yeah, but I'm not like I'm not like Todd. You know, Todd's going to strip clubs and and and banging hookers. And uh, so I'm not like Todd, you know, I'm I'm I'm I'm fine. I'm a little better than Todd. So, you know, they compare themselves to each other and then they, you know, they try not to race to the bottom. And as long as they're not like, sorry, Todd, wherever all the Todds are, Todd just took a hit. But, you know, it is what it is. Somebody's got to get named. I should come up with some random names for examples where people aren't taking taking those, but Todd took a bullet today. Thanks, Todd. Tell us briefly, briefly about your book. Made man, made man is a labor of love. This has been all the things that we've talked about so far, Dorsey, in regards to this marriage between modern psychology and the Bible and figuring out proximity to conditions and everything that is aligned with that is in that book, Made Man. It is the concept of it is you think about a man be think about Adam before Adam sinned. What kind of man would that be? And it's not that that man would have, he wouldn't have any problems or challenges, but that man before sin would have his identity completely wrapped up in who God is, what God wants, what God ordains, he would have full trust, he would have full, abandoned trust in who God is, and he would be dominant, he would subdue the land, he would multiply whatever God gave him to multiply, and he would be a, he would, you can just imagine Adam without sin would be so powerful. And if you can't imagine Adam without sin, then think of the second Adam, Jesus Christ, because Jesus was without sin. And if he told a mountain to move, he would move. And he walked on water and he embodied what it is to be, and he embodied what it is to be a made man, a man made in the image of God without sin. And that is basically the concept of made man is to take guys back from from where to take guys back to where they belong. We're not at home, Dorsey, in being in the animal and living and fighting and and defending fleshly desires and sinful desires. That's not our home. Our home identity is representing who God is. And once we embrace that and we find our way back to that, then we're truly powerful men. Then we're really made men.

As I give it an end here, I always like to ask my guest, give one word of encouragement to my audience.

SPEAKER_01

A word of encouragement to the audience. Let's assume your audience is what 20 to 50 year olds, right? So it's uh maybe there's men, maybe there's a ton of ton of men, maybe a bunch of women. Whatever your gender, proximity, seeking God, who he is, and trusting him in absolutely everything. And if you can identify where in your life you're afraid, that'll

Encouragement, Assessment, And Closing

SPEAKER_01

tell you what you're defending, and that'll tell you where you don't trust God. And if you can conf and if you can convert that into trust, then you will have a life you never could possibly imagine. We're not talking about riches and fame. We're just talking about a life of peace and joy. Is that encouraging enough? You want me to go, you want me to go deep, like like preacher style. I'll stand on a box and preach it from the mountaintop store see if you want me to.

SPEAKER_00

No, that was great. Where can people connect with you and reach out to you even, you know, they're looking for a book to read to find you a book?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, well, they can get anybody can get a f the free assessment. That's the reverse engineering of your results that you're getting. You can get that at mademan.net forward slash assessment. The book will be available there shortly. We're going through the, we're going through the last phases of the editing to make sure that it, you know. If you've ever done anything that of a creative, this is gonna be my first book, right? So if you've ever done anything of a creative endeavor, you know that once you put it out into the wild, you're you're you're putting your soul out there, right? You're in your and you're gonna put your soul out there, Dorsey, for everybody to stomp on and to, you know, they're gonna take it out in the back alley and pee on it, right? They're gonna do really, they're gonna just treat you. There's a there's a chance that that could happen. And so you when you put it out, you want to make sure that it is at least the best that you could possibly make it. That'll be out in the next couple weeks.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I I have my own book out there, so I I know we I know exactly what you're talking about.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Well, it's scary, right? When you when what did you do right before you released your book? What was that like?

SPEAKER_00

It was scary. Well, the first time it was scary, and then the second time I did an update and addition to it, and that was a little bit better because I knew, you know, it was professionally done and professionally edited, you know, the the second time. So I knew that was gonna be a more more polished book than the than the original one was.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Well, if you ever want to figure out where like your emotional weaknesses are or where you're insecure, hand that off to an editor that gives you back a bunch of notes and says, well, this is stupid and you should change that. And the wording on this is fairly uneducated, and you're just sitting there, you know, taking, you know, it's hard, it's hard to not take some of that stuff personal, I think, you know, in your creative work. But it's almost there. And I think that the long-term goal here is to build a community of made men who are committed to seeking and living out the life that God has for them and abandoning all things that are fleshly and being powerful. So that'll that'll emerge. I already started working on the on the course of the program that'll be associated with the book, but everybody can get the assessment at mademan.net and figure out you can maybe it'll just tell maybe it'll tell you that you're a perfect man and you need not change anything, Dorsey. But it also made the assessment may tell you that you're messed up in ways that you didn't know. And uh the sooner you can find that out, the sooner you can begin to transform your mind by you know, transform your life by renewing your mind.
