00:00:00.381 --> 00:00:06.153
Hello everyone, thanks again for joining me on another episode of the Dorshow Show.
00:00:06.153 --> 00:00:09.285
Today we have a special guest with us.
00:00:09.285 --> 00:00:27.847
His name is Cohen GJ Moneyway-Lonkin, who is a podcast host, author and entrepreneur Known for his inspiring storytelling and focus on resilience and personal growth.
00:00:27.847 --> 00:00:36.656
His work, including podcasts and books, explores themes of perseverance and self-discovery.
00:00:36.656 --> 00:00:40.310
Corin, thank you so much for coming on the show today.
00:00:40.520 --> 00:00:41.924
Thank you for having me on Dorsey man.
00:00:41.924 --> 00:00:47.261
I appreciate it today.
00:00:47.280 --> 00:00:48.362
Thank you for having me on Dorsey man.
00:00:48.362 --> 00:00:49.485
I appreciate it Absolutely.
00:00:49.485 --> 00:00:54.557
I'd like to open up with an icebreaker question, and today's icebreaker question is what's your biggest passion?
00:00:55.780 --> 00:01:12.486
My biggest passion, yeah, is to do something in life and, you know, try to do something in life, man, bigger than myself, so that I'd be able to provide for my family the way that I want to and the way that, you know, I feel that they may deserve.
00:01:12.486 --> 00:01:16.769
So that's my big passion to keep doing what I'm doing, man, to try to make something out of it.
00:01:18.212 --> 00:01:24.572
Okay, can you share with us your story and about your life growing up?
00:01:27.606 --> 00:01:30.894
Can you share with us your story and about your life?
00:01:30.894 --> 00:01:33.519
Growing up I mean just coming up two family, two-parent household.
00:01:33.519 --> 00:01:35.825
I had my mother and father, so there was structure there.
00:01:35.825 --> 00:01:50.867
But as a young man, as a teenager as some do even to this day I strayed away from the structure and was doing what I wanted to do as far as how I thought life should be and how I thought the path was going.
00:01:50.867 --> 00:01:53.793
But I had a mother who raised me in church.
00:01:55.381 --> 00:02:08.707
Now that I look back over it some years later, decades later, and I thank her for that, because, even though I strayed away from some things, the Bible say that it trained up a child in a way that they should go and when they get older they won't depart from it.
00:02:08.707 --> 00:02:18.110
And so, although I had strayed away from some things in life, a good majority of my adult life, man, I just thank my mother for that foundation in the beginning.
00:02:18.110 --> 00:02:25.151
I thank God for bringing me back into the fold, because the Bible say can't no man come to him unless he draw you into him, man?
00:02:25.151 --> 00:02:30.073
And so you know, with that opportunity, this is what I'm doing, amen.
00:02:32.001 --> 00:02:38.413
Your life seems to revolve around resilience and overcoming adversity.
00:02:38.413 --> 00:02:40.341
What one pivotal moment that shaped who you are today.
00:02:40.341 --> 00:02:43.783
Pivotal moment that shaped who you are today.
00:02:44.985 --> 00:03:11.346
Man, I would say one pivotal moment was I was living in Detroit and I actually was having a conversation, I'm not going to say with myself, but I believe, with my inner spirit, and it was telling me that I had to go back home, which, indiana, and being reluctant and being, you know, in the place that I was at, I didn't want to come back home.
00:03:11.346 --> 00:03:22.848
And he was telling me, it was saying to me that I needed to come back home because people, they needed to see a change through me in order for them to change.
00:03:22.848 --> 00:03:34.680
And so I'm sitting up there, I'm like, oh, you're talking about my family, and so that, following where, I say, well, if that's what you want me to do, you need to show me a sign in order for me to want to go back.
00:03:34.680 --> 00:03:41.012
So I had a dream the following week, man, and it kind of opened up my eyes to some things or whatnot.
00:03:41.300 --> 00:03:46.781
And then come, you know, just now, just to think about it, I had to leave.
00:03:46.781 --> 00:03:49.510
I had to leave Detroit and come back home because my wife was in Indiana.
00:03:49.510 --> 00:03:53.644
So that was a pivotal, a pivotal moment in my life.
00:03:53.644 --> 00:04:02.186
It was to come back home and to get my wife, because the Bible say that you know, he who finds a wife finds a good thing, taking favor from the Lord.
00:04:02.186 --> 00:04:16.793
So I think that was a real pivotal moment in my life, man, because ever since then I think we just went on our 15th year anniversary this past December and that has been the game changer in my life as far as becoming the man who I am now.
00:04:18.620 --> 00:04:21.069
Were you working in Detroit at that time?
00:04:21.069 --> 00:04:26.689
Was that why you were there, or what was the reason for you being in Detroit?
00:04:27.399 --> 00:04:40.553
You know, dorsey man, sometimes life it has its challenges, and sometimes you think you're doing something for a particular reason, but God is the ultimate choice maker, decision maker man.
00:04:40.553 --> 00:04:46.418
So I went to Detroit for a job, but what I found there was much more than a job man.
00:04:46.418 --> 00:04:50.466
I found myself, I found my spiritual growth there.
00:04:50.466 --> 00:04:55.766
I found, you know, saying, I found that man from within whom god has sent me forth to be man.
00:04:55.766 --> 00:05:02.882
And so it was much more than just a job, which I thought was my process of going there, man, but I came back with so much more.
00:05:04.425 --> 00:05:07.487
Okay, what is your book?
00:05:07.487 --> 00:05:10.310
Faith Through Trials about.
00:05:11.211 --> 00:05:16.495
Well, Faith Through Trials, man, is about what y'all planning on releasing this year.
00:05:16.495 --> 00:05:42.423
I actually I'm starting a campaign and working on a campaign because my book Both Eyes Open and Both Eyes Shut, I released that November 15th, and so I want to do something to, you know, to collaborate, uh, the 10 year anniversary of that book, and then I want to actually release this, um, Faith Through Trials the same day and have them both done on the same day, man.
00:05:42.423 --> 00:06:01.502
But Faith Through Trials is a deeply engaging and transformative book that explores the parables of the soul as a lens to understand how faith is planted, tested and strengthened through life challenges, man, A lot of things that we go through in life and a lot of adversity that we face, you know.
00:06:01.502 --> 00:06:13.324
So, through this powerful storytelling, man, real life struggle and biblical wisdom, the book provides a roadmap, as I would say, for navigating the trials of life, man, with unshakable faith.
00:06:13.324 --> 00:06:19.882
And so that's just basically the overview and basically the main point of what I'm trying to get through through this book.
00:06:21.685 --> 00:06:27.014
What would you say to people who are facing trials and facing difficulties?
00:06:27.014 --> 00:06:37.793
What would you say to them to encourage them to keep going, to keep knowing that eventually you'll overcome those trials and those difficulties.
00:06:38.480 --> 00:06:43.579
You know, actually every situation is different for everybody.
00:06:43.579 --> 00:06:46.589
It depends on the makeup of the person.
00:06:46.589 --> 00:06:56.091
But a lot of times, life difficulties, we go through, temptations, we have doubt, there's suffering, moral decay within ourselves.
00:06:56.091 --> 00:07:09.408
The Bible say that having a form of God, but denying the powers thereof, and so that's what a lot of us, that's what we are in our faith, you know, and it can be weakened or destroyed.
00:07:09.408 --> 00:07:11.980
Our faith can be weakened or destroyed, but in faith.
00:07:11.980 --> 00:07:20.103
But if faith is planted in good soil, man, open heart, god can use that and it will grow and bear lasting fruit.
00:07:20.103 --> 00:07:24.872
Man, impacting not just an individual but an entire community, man.
00:07:24.872 --> 00:07:36.738
So, to answer your question, like sometimes, man, you just got to dig deep down into yourself and the situations that you're in and pray to God that he'll pull you through.
00:07:36.738 --> 00:07:39.970
Man, we was all born with greatness.
00:07:39.970 --> 00:07:42.288
Man, we was all born with a seed of greatness.
00:07:42.800 --> 00:07:55.367
And a lot of times where I think where, uh, where we fail at is that when we're looking for things in life, uh, we buried our talent and so we refuse to go back and dig our talents up.
00:07:55.367 --> 00:08:00.749
Man, if we know the scripture and we know what it talks about it, in one of the parables, uh, he talks about.
00:08:00.749 --> 00:08:04.704
One took his talent and multiplied it and got five more talents.
00:08:04.704 --> 00:08:11.415
The other took his talents, got two more talents and multiplied his and got half four talents all together.
00:08:11.415 --> 00:08:14.290
Then the other one, he took his talents and buried them in the earth.
00:08:14.759 --> 00:08:22.262
And so to me, man, I think a lot of times we bury our talents in the earth and then we complain about what we don't have, but we refuse to.
00:08:22.624 --> 00:08:31.252
We refuse to build on what God has already sent us with man, because if we multiply the talent that we already have, then God will multiply that more.
00:08:31.252 --> 00:08:35.448
But we just want things on the plate and we want things to come as it is.
00:08:35.448 --> 00:08:37.081
But that's not how life go, man.
00:08:37.081 --> 00:08:43.245
So sometimes you have to fight through those difficult challenges, knowing that it's a brighter day at the end of the day, man.
00:08:43.245 --> 00:08:46.952
But sometimes we give up and we get lost in ourself, man.
00:08:46.952 --> 00:08:59.388
But if we believe in God and we trust in God, man, then we know that he said that he would never leave us or forsake us, because his words say that the heavens and earth shall pass, man, but his words shall remain forever.
00:08:59.388 --> 00:09:14.051
So that's what you got to stand at, and sometimes, if we're not standing on that foundation, on that solid foundation, right there, man, we get lost in ourself, man, and so, therefore, that's what keeps us from getting to where God wants us to be in life.
00:09:15.332 --> 00:09:17.147
Amen, that's preaching fire right there.
00:09:17.147 --> 00:09:27.650
What made you get into writing and get into podcasting, and what is your podcast show about?
00:09:28.956 --> 00:09:30.596
I actually, man, what got me into?
00:09:30.596 --> 00:09:32.940
I don't know what got me into writing.
00:09:32.940 --> 00:09:34.201
Sometimes.
00:09:34.201 --> 00:09:38.846
I believe, dorsey man, you know, like I say, go back to Detroit.
00:09:38.846 --> 00:09:54.676
That's when I realized that I had a knack on a gift for writing speaker.
00:09:54.676 --> 00:09:56.061
I've been speaking ever since I was in, uh, early learning school.
00:09:56.061 --> 00:09:58.611
You know, my mother still got a picture of that when I was sitting up there speaking at early learning man.
00:09:58.611 --> 00:10:03.644
So I've been doing things like that my whole life, and drama and things of that nature.
00:10:03.644 --> 00:10:08.241
So I've always had that creative characteristic within me.
00:10:08.241 --> 00:10:09.384
But I never, you know.
00:10:09.384 --> 00:10:10.746
But I was a basketball player.
00:10:10.746 --> 00:10:15.921
I was, I was an athlete, so, uh, that that's what I put my, my, my, my eggs.
00:10:15.921 --> 00:10:23.191
And I put my eggs in that basket because, you know, I wanted to be the next Magic Johnson or Jason Kidd or something of that nature.
00:10:23.191 --> 00:10:25.703
That's where I thought my talents was at.
00:10:26.215 --> 00:10:39.986
But once I got to Detroit and I was able to, god separated me from some things and from some people, and sometimes you have to get isolated in order to hear the voice of God.
00:10:39.986 --> 00:10:55.018
And when you isolated in that aspect, man, you know, it kinds of the distractions in life that we go through every day and that challenges that we face every day, trying to please other people and do another thing.
00:10:55.018 --> 00:11:09.287
And so when I got into that fold man where he just pulled me by myself and it was just me and him and I was able to hear, I started writing you know, matter of fact, this, both eyes open and both eyes set that I that I wrote.
00:11:09.287 --> 00:11:11.475
I started writing that in 2016.
00:11:11.475 --> 00:11:14.245
Like I said, it got published in 2015.
00:11:14.245 --> 00:11:17.500
But I started with the concept and I was writing.
00:11:17.500 --> 00:11:24.705
I think the first draft that I had it was called the Ways of the World, just seeing things, how things was going.
00:11:24.705 --> 00:11:26.616
I was talking about matter of fact.
00:11:26.616 --> 00:11:39.610
I know it's funny now, but I was talking about Denzel Washington and I think I said Angela Bassett to win Oscars, to win the Oscar Awards, and, sure enough, denzel wound up winning one for Training Day.
00:11:39.610 --> 00:11:45.865
Angela Bassett didn't win one, but Halle Berry won one for the movie that she played in.
00:11:45.865 --> 00:11:48.240
I forgot the name of the movie, but I was.
00:11:48.299 --> 00:11:51.071
You know, for some reason, man, I was just on stuff like that.
00:11:51.071 --> 00:11:53.520
God has given me the ability once I started reading stuff.
00:11:53.520 --> 00:11:53.850
Man, I could just on stuff like that.
00:11:53.850 --> 00:11:55.791
God has given me the ability Once I started reading stuff, man, I could see certain things.
00:11:55.791 --> 00:12:09.192
I'm not saying that I'm a prophet or anything like that man, but when you start dwelling, you know, and if you start dwelling in the bosom of God man, jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, man, he started opening up things.
00:12:09.192 --> 00:12:13.323
Man starts showing you things that just sometimes other people can't see.
00:12:13.323 --> 00:12:21.116
Man, you know what I'm saying, like honestly, and I'm going to be honest with you, da, me and Dorsey.
00:12:21.136 --> 00:12:23.557
September 11th man 2001,.
00:12:23.557 --> 00:12:25.899
I'll never forget this.
00:12:25.899 --> 00:12:27.941
And they say you only need two witnesses.
00:12:27.941 --> 00:12:30.162
You know what I'm saying, so I don't need everybody to.
00:12:30.162 --> 00:12:33.524
You know, oh, he lying, he ain't talking about this.
00:12:33.524 --> 00:12:39.927
I know for a fact what I know, you know, and I won't get on your show and say something that wasn't true.
00:12:39.927 --> 00:12:43.389
You know, especially about me, I'm not coming on here to be a liar.
00:12:43.389 --> 00:12:45.711
Like you said, I got my own brand to protect.
00:12:45.711 --> 00:12:46.912
I got podcast.
00:12:46.912 --> 00:12:49.133
I got two podcasts, matter of fact.
00:12:49.133 --> 00:12:52.899
So I got my own brand to protect.
00:12:52.899 --> 00:13:00.287
So what I'm here to tell you, this is exactly what happened, and this is what I mean by sometimes foresight, and you don't even know what you're seeing or why you're seeing it.
00:13:00.715 --> 00:13:02.899
September 10th 2011,.
00:13:02.899 --> 00:13:13.969
I was over my son's mother's house at the time and we was talking and I had seen some stuff on the news at work that they just wasn't showing regular TV.
00:13:13.969 --> 00:13:21.381
And so you know, at that time we drinking and we having a good time, we talking, I say I say we fit to go to war.
00:13:21.381 --> 00:13:23.360
And so she's like what do you mean?
00:13:23.360 --> 00:13:24.162
We fit to go to war?
00:13:24.162 --> 00:13:25.105
I said we fit to go to war.
00:13:25.105 --> 00:13:26.500
I'm like something going on.
00:13:26.500 --> 00:13:30.782
I seen some planes leaving the base or something, but there's something that they wouldn't talk about.
00:13:30.782 --> 00:13:35.789
So me and her cousin, we going back and forth, we ain't, finna, go to no war, this and that, whatever, whatever.
00:13:36.315 --> 00:13:39.826
So that morning I went home and I'm laying in the bed.
00:13:39.826 --> 00:13:42.524
I was staying with my cousin at the time, me and my cousin Petey.
00:13:42.524 --> 00:13:47.163
A big shout out to my cousin, old Pete, and I'm laying in the bed.
00:13:47.163 --> 00:13:52.240
Man, you know I'm kind of drunk and hungover, dorsey, man, I'm just giving it to you 100.
00:13:52.240 --> 00:13:58.808
And he came running in my room and said man, they just the towers, man, they just, you know, knocked down the towers.
00:13:58.808 --> 00:14:00.811
So you know I'm in the drunken state over.
00:14:00.811 --> 00:14:06.606
So I'm thinking he talking about something that just happened in Michigan or something you know, whatever, whatever.
00:14:06.606 --> 00:14:09.865
So I didn't get up to see what he was talking about.
00:14:09.865 --> 00:14:16.100
And then he came in there the second time and said man, he just knocked down the second tower.
00:14:16.100 --> 00:14:17.124
So now you got my attention.
00:14:17.124 --> 00:14:29.123
So now I get up and I'm looking at the TV and I'm just sitting up there and amazement, like wow, you know what I'm saying Because I had just talked about this the day before.
00:14:29.624 --> 00:14:34.937
To a matter of fact, I told my son, mother here in Indiana, I was telling her the same thing or whatnot.
00:14:34.937 --> 00:14:40.777
And man, once it happened and everything went that way, both of them called me and told me how did you know that?
00:14:40.777 --> 00:14:41.759
I said I don't know.
00:14:41.759 --> 00:14:44.988
You know I'm saying I mean just honestly, I didn't know.
00:14:44.988 --> 00:15:00.366
But it's just when you start getting attached in your spirit world man, in your spiritual being, man, and you know it's just like Job said, dorsey man, job said that your word esteems me more than my necessary foods.
00:15:00.366 --> 00:15:01.176
You know what I'm saying.
00:15:01.437 --> 00:15:24.898
And once you start tapping into feeding your spiritual man, as if we feed our own bodies in the natural man, god will begin revealing some things about you, and sometimes there's some things that we may not like, because there's some things that we may not like, because there's some things that we got to change about ourselves, and I think in that aspect, in that way of life, I think a lot of, especially, men I can only talk about men because I'm a man A lot of men, a lot of us.
00:15:24.898 --> 00:15:29.799
I just did an episode on my other podcast, planting Seeds, with CJ.
00:15:29.799 --> 00:15:47.522
I just did an episode called Manhood, the man in the mirror, and what's difficult about that, dorsey man and you being a man yourself, sometimes men, we don't like to look in the mirror because sometimes, when we look in the mirror, we don't like a reflection of what we see.
00:15:48.644 --> 00:16:01.067
Yeah, how has your faith been a guiding force through adversity and how has your faith guided you through challenges and into success?
00:16:05.500 --> 00:16:09.129
Sometimes life it's challenges.
00:16:09.129 --> 00:16:17.623
You know, a lot of times we want to take the easy road out and say you know, a lot of times we want to use, we want to take the easy road out and and and say you know just just all the good things.
00:16:17.623 --> 00:16:24.903
But, man, I've been one that I've been tested, my feet been to the fire, I've been through some things in life.
00:16:24.903 --> 00:16:34.076
I've had some ups, I've had some downs, I've had some turbulent times, you know, and some things that probably could have, you know, took me under or whatnot.
00:16:34.076 --> 00:16:40.028
But, man, once I start, once I start seeking man, he say seek and you shall find.
00:16:40.028 --> 00:16:42.179
He say knock and the door shall be open.
00:16:42.179 --> 00:17:03.206
Man, you know, and once I start seeking man and once I start searching for the, for the true and living God man, a lot of these things and a lot of the, the things I had been going through, whatever man, it started becoming second nature man because, like I say, he said that he would never leave us or forsake us, man, or that he would never put more on us than we can bear.
00:17:03.206 --> 00:17:09.741
You know and just know that God is with you, man, regardless of what you're going through, that things can be better man.
00:17:09.741 --> 00:17:20.481
But, as I said, you know, going back to what I was talking about not too long ago, in order to get to that point, a lot of times you have to look at yourself, you have to examine yourself.
00:17:20.481 --> 00:17:22.382
What do I need to change about me?
00:17:22.382 --> 00:17:24.973
Where am I failing at?
00:17:24.973 --> 00:17:31.188
What am I doing that's not aligning to the purpose that God wants me to live?
00:17:31.188 --> 00:17:43.845
And so if I'm not willing to sit down and ask myself that question, or if any man or woman is not willing to sit down and ask themselves that question, then we're going to still be getting tossed to and fro, man.
00:17:43.845 --> 00:17:45.740
You know, that's just the bottom line.
00:17:45.795 --> 00:17:59.180
The Bible say that when going back to the book of Job, even in the beginning because it baffled me when I saw it at first it say as the angels went up to the heavens, satan went up with him and God seen him and asked him what was he doing here?
00:17:59.180 --> 00:18:00.240
Or what was he doing?
00:18:00.240 --> 00:18:01.701
And he said I'm just going back.
00:18:01.701 --> 00:18:08.403
And you say I'm just going to and fro the earth seeing who he can devour and I was one of those whom he was devouring.
00:18:08.403 --> 00:18:11.744
And but he said have you tried my humble servant, job?
00:18:12.846 --> 00:18:18.907
And so sometimes, man, we have to take that Job approach because we're going to get tested, we're going to lose some things.
00:18:18.907 --> 00:18:19.929
You know what I'm saying?
00:18:19.929 --> 00:18:30.492
There's going to be some sacrifices to have this thing and have this full-fledged love and trust and believing in God man, and that's why I was at it in life.
00:18:30.492 --> 00:18:33.275
It got to such a down point in my life.
00:18:33.275 --> 00:18:45.663
I didn't have nothing else to believe in, nothing else to turn to but God, and once I started seeing a transformation in my life, I knew that it was true, and so there's no turning back from that for me.
00:18:47.705 --> 00:18:49.092
I think that's what happens sometimes.
00:18:49.092 --> 00:19:03.338
We have to get to that point, you know, where the only thing is to do is to look to God, is to trust in him, even, like you're saying, you know, to look at ourselves and see hey, what do we need to change in ourselves?
00:19:03.338 --> 00:19:08.517
What do we need to do differently, you know, to have God work in our lives.
00:19:09.865 --> 00:19:10.970
That's the bottom line, man.
00:19:10.970 --> 00:19:11.512
That's the key.
00:19:11.512 --> 00:19:29.660
It said that the most important thing for a man to do is to see the face of God, man, because at the end of the day, dorsey man, at the end of the day, it say that every knee shall bow, every tongue shall confess and every man will be judged by his own, his own accord.
00:19:29.660 --> 00:19:31.357
So it ain't what mama did, it ain't what grandmama did.
00:19:31.357 --> 00:19:36.492
So it ain't what mama did, it ain't what grandmama did, it ain't what daddy did, it ain't what your brother and your uncles did.
00:19:36.492 --> 00:19:43.451
They was all pastors, they was ministers, they was elders in the church, they was this and they was that, and so they may have passed away.
00:19:43.451 --> 00:19:47.106
And so now they in glory because they lived that life like that.
00:19:47.106 --> 00:19:47.989
That don't mean that you did.
00:19:47.989 --> 00:19:49.730
That don't mean that you did.
00:19:49.730 --> 00:20:02.747
That don't mean that you did so, whatever they did, that ain't going to get you there, because we all going to be judged by our own, our own accord.
00:20:02.747 --> 00:20:03.148
What did you do?
00:20:03.148 --> 00:20:04.474
That's going to be the question at the end of the day.
00:20:04.474 --> 00:20:04.817
What did you do?
00:20:04.817 --> 00:20:05.921
That's what I try to focus on, man, on what I do.
00:20:05.921 --> 00:20:12.718
You know what I'm saying and what I'm trying to do to have a better community man, to make a difference in somebody's life.
00:20:12.825 --> 00:20:14.412
You know, the Bible says this too, man.
00:20:14.412 --> 00:20:16.132
I'll leave it on that, dorsey.
00:20:16.132 --> 00:20:17.349
The Bible says this too.
00:20:17.349 --> 00:20:26.115
It say that 99 kept going and one got lost and they rejoiced over that one that was lost.
00:20:26.115 --> 00:20:32.731
Then the 99 that didn't stray away, man, and a lot of times we lost you know what I'm saying and we don't know that God is.
00:20:32.731 --> 00:20:36.684
He is more happy to find us, that whom was lost.
00:20:36.684 --> 00:20:40.556
But now we found in those that stayed the path, the whole course, man.
00:20:40.556 --> 00:20:49.473
But sometimes we don't feel like we worthy to be loved, or sometimes we just feel like the word of God is just not true, or we try to make it to be what we want to be.
00:20:55.346 --> 00:20:57.348
But that ain't how it is, man.
00:20:57.348 --> 00:20:59.171
God's word is God's word and we can't change that.
00:20:59.171 --> 00:21:05.940
Yeah, your podcast ranks in the top 3% globally, which is no small defeat, excuse me, no small feat.
00:21:12.630 --> 00:21:15.625
What do you think sets you so apart and resonates with listeners?
00:21:15.625 --> 00:21:36.077
Well, I didn't update that but not to toot my own horn either, dorsey man, but it's in the top 2.5% now, as of about three weeks ago or whatnot, and I haven't posted it or whatever, because I'm focusing on something else and to me, man, it's not about accolades or things of that nature.
00:21:36.077 --> 00:21:41.433
Man, one thing that I'm trying to do, like I've done, just had to, as you know about that.
00:21:41.433 --> 00:21:57.332
I just had to set my, my calendar for as far as release dates or whatnot, and, uh, man, I got I'm, hmm, did like 200 podcast episodes in less than two years because of my anniversary Two-year anniversary was in October.
00:21:57.984 --> 00:22:01.096
And one thing I would say, man, is just consistency.
00:22:01.096 --> 00:22:33.874
You learn as you go, a lot of times, the more and more you do something, repetition, you get better at it, and then, as you know too, being a podcast host yourself, that you start finding yourself, you find your niche, you find who you are, you take a deeper look at who you are, and so I just try to build a comfortable space, man, for my guests, man, to just let them do and say what they want to say, lead them into certain questions, man, and people just walk away with, say what they want to say, lead them into certain questions, man, and people just walk away with.
00:22:33.874 --> 00:22:34.836
A great experience.
00:22:34.836 --> 00:22:42.648
I, you know, and I know that I'm just not saying that, but just the interviews that you know that we get, uh, from pod match and things of that nature.
00:22:42.648 --> 00:22:47.467
So we see what people saying, man, and how people actually feel about what you're doing.
00:22:47.467 --> 00:22:52.022
Like, I don't I haven't even touched into everything that I probably can get into.
00:22:52.022 --> 00:22:59.175
You know what I'm saying Because, as you know, with your podcast and things, when you're building a brand from the ground up, it's not easy.
00:22:59.175 --> 00:23:01.311
It's definitely not easy.
00:23:01.311 --> 00:23:06.270
It takes a lot of work, and so that's what I would say man, what got me to where I am now?
00:23:06.270 --> 00:23:07.796
Man in the garage.
00:23:08.205 --> 00:23:10.551
I'm also on the network.
00:23:10.551 --> 00:23:12.717
I'm on the network Believe Network.
00:23:12.717 --> 00:23:14.228
They reached out to me.
00:23:14.228 --> 00:23:16.092
I've been there since September.
00:23:16.092 --> 00:23:21.890
Actually, man, I got to get back with Alex pretty soon.
00:23:21.890 --> 00:23:24.952
Big shout out to Alex and Pod matching his team.
00:23:24.952 --> 00:23:28.893
He just hit me up the other day wanting me to come on their network again.
00:23:28.893 --> 00:23:30.229
It's the second time he's asked me.
00:23:30.229 --> 00:23:48.153
I don't think I'm going to turn him down this time, but so I just say, man, just being consistent man and just having a passion and loving what you're doing, man, because everything is not about money, man, it's about the passion that you do it with man, and when you come that way, you don't look at people's status.
00:23:48.153 --> 00:23:49.135
You know what I'm saying.
00:23:49.135 --> 00:24:01.881
It's not about status, it's about doing what you, what you uh have a passion to do, man, and enjoy doing, and so that's just something that I try to bring on my cj money way show.
00:24:01.901 --> 00:24:12.859
I think that's why it's doing as good as it's doing sure what's the biggest lesson you learned from the incredible guest that you interview on your shows.
00:24:13.984 --> 00:24:16.948
Man, that longevity is for real man.
00:24:16.948 --> 00:24:25.474
I interviewed this guy named John Brinks man, dude, like 87 years old, but I mean my man got a body to die.
00:24:25.474 --> 00:24:39.635
For you know, and I'm not even a kid, you know, I mean this dude, 80 years old man, he was like a bodybuilder or something, but his story was resonating, though, you know, like he was telling me, my family, telling my wife about this last night.
00:24:39.635 --> 00:24:45.397
But his story was fascinating because he came to Canada with like $47.
00:24:45.397 --> 00:24:56.469
He's built six companies and he realized when he was 61 years old he got diagnosed with uh, adhd.
00:24:56.469 --> 00:25:00.259
So he said he always felt like he was different, even growing up.
00:25:00.259 --> 00:25:07.256
But at 61 years old he realized, you know, got diagnosed with this, uh, and so that kind of.
00:25:07.375 --> 00:25:22.615
You know, to me that's one of the stories although I have a lot of, but that's one that just sticks out to me, man, because sometimes you never know what state you're in mentally or whatnot, or why you different than other people and things that he had.
00:25:22.615 --> 00:25:37.916
Man, he persevered, he went through this man got six functionally operating, generating millions of dollar companies.
00:25:37.916 --> 00:25:44.613
Man, so you can do whatever you want to do in life if you put your mind to it, and so he was a big inspiration to me.
00:25:44.613 --> 00:25:48.349
Man, it can happen, things can happen, man.
